The Heritage Handbag is a handmade bag weaved on a traditional waist loom by artisans from Chiapas, a southern Mexican state very popular for their ethnic diversity, skillfull workshops and colorful textiles. This style is both embroidered with traditional Tzotzil (Sodsil) and Tzetzal (Sedsal) geometric patterns and the technique of 'deshilado' or drawn threadwork. With deshilado, selected threads are pulled from the ground fabric; the rest are bound and reinforced with decorative stitching. The fabric achieved by using different thread colors results in a thick and multi-colored texture. This bag is a unique item.
